Return Policy


Good Condition Returns

The return must be completed within 30 days from the shipment date, and you will be responsible for the return shipping cost to Pediment Books. We suggest you use a return shipping method that issues tracking numbers, so you can ensure the item is safely returned to our Returns Department. Please note that all returns are subject to a restocking fee of 20%. If we receive the book in a severely damaged condition, we will not be able to issue a credit for the return. For more information on unacceptable returns, please see our Unacceptable Returns section.

We can only process a return if the following form is filled out and submitted. Once the form has been submitted, you will receive a confirmation email, which will give you further instructions on sending in your return.

Return Form

Defective Returns

If you receive your order and any of the products enclosed are damaged or defective, Pediment Books will take responsibility for these damaged/defective books. Upon receiving your properly filled out returns form within 30 days of receiving the book, we will send replacement book(s) or we will credit your account.

We will need to see a photo of the damages to the book(s) and, in some cases, we will ask you to send the book back to us (shipping charges at Pediment Books’ expense) so that we can properly handle your request. In some cases, we will ask for both a photograph and we will supply you with a UPS label to send the books back.

We will not be able to accept your claim for a damaged item beyond 30 days of receiving the order.

Unacceptable Returns

Pediment Books will neither issue a credit nor send a replacement book for returns that fall under any of the following conditions:

  1. If book is shrink-wrapped and the shrink wrap has been removed
  2. Books that are refused by you, the customer, and thus returned back to the Whitestown, IN Fulfillment Center.
  3. Books that are returned without a completed Returns Form

Refused Shipments

The only way for us to handle a return from you is for you to accept delivery and then contact us about sending the item back. When you follow this procedure we can handle your return and credit your account in a timely manner. If you refuse shipment the product goes back to the fulfillment center, we will not be able to process your return, since our fulfillment center may not return the refused book to our inventory. We cannot process your return until we receive the product at the specified Returns address.

You must accept delivery of the product and then contact us immediately to gain a return approval. Please click on the following links for a complete description of our Return Policy and Return Procedures.

If through no fault of PedimentBooks.com the shipment is refused, we will charge your account the outbound shipping and handling fees to recover the expenses we incurred. We also reserve the right to impose a 20% restocking fee.

If you desire to cancel an order, please follow the directions outlined in our Order Cancellations section of our Terms & Conditions.

If the shipment arrives damaged as a result of a PedimentBooks.com error, we will either send you a replacement or a credit for the entire purchase. In order to accommodate this request, please fill out this form or contact us by email or call 360-687-6731 to ensure that we process your request properly so we can either replace the damaged copy or credit your account in a timely manner. If you do not follow these procedures, we cannot guarantee that your return/exchange will be handled in a timely manner, nor can we guarantee that your account will be credited in full.

Gift Returns

If you received this book as a gift and you know the purchaser, please have the purchaser follow our returns procedures. If you received this book as a gift and are unsure as to who purchased the gift for you, please contact us by email or call 360-687-6731 and we will instruct you how to proceed with the return.

Book Set Returns

If you purchased books as a set, the book set must be returned as a set. If you intend to return just one copy of your book set, you will only receive a partial credit. The non-returned book from your set will be treated and charged at the full retail price of the book and you will be given a credit for the difference.

Example: Rochester Memories Book Set sells at $59.95. If you return just Rochester Memories I from the set, you will only be given a credit of $20, as this is the difference between the full retail price of Rochester Memories II ($39.95) and the Book Set price.

Exchanges

We can only accept exchanges for the same title. We cannot process an exchange for an alternate title. You will need to complete and follow the returns procedures and the return must meet all of the conditions listed in our return policy to receive credit or a replacement.

For orders that are received, please contact us right away by email or call 360-687-6731 or fill out this FORM. We need to receive notification from you that you received your order damaged within 30 days of when you received the book(s) for us to either credit your account or replace the damaged item.

We will need at least one photo showing the damaged item(s). If you are unable to supply a photo, we will need to receive the book(s) back within 10 days. Pediment Books will supply you with a pre-paid UPS label to accommodate the return of the damaged merchandise. In order to facilitate this, please contact us right away.

Expedited Shipping: If you paid to have your order expedited and you received your order damaged, we will issue a credit for the expedited shipping and will expedite a replacement order. We will need to see a photo and/or have the book(s) returned. Please see above for more information.

Returns Procedures

No return will be accepted without a properly filled out return form found HERE.

We must receive your properly filled out return form within 30 days from when the order shipped to you. We must then receive your acceptable returned order within 10 days of filling out the form. If these requirements are not met, your order may not be accepted and/or your account may not be credited.

If you received your item damaged, please contact us right away by email or call 360-687-6731 or fill out this FORM. We need to receive notification from you that you received your order damaged within 30 days from the ship date for us to either credit your account or replace the damaged item.

*Shipping and Handling Fees are not refundable.
