Monmouth Park holds a special place in the hearts of New Jersey residents and horse racing enthusiasts throughout the world. The Star-Ledger teamed up with Monmouth Park to publish a special commemorative, 144-page, full-color coffee table book celebrating the track’s remarkable history. From its beginning in 1870, the re-opening in 1946, the proud tradition as host of the $1,000,000 Haskell Invitational to the hosting of the Breeders’ Cup in 2007, this beautiful, hard-cover, heirloom-quality book covers the track’s history as never before. Monmouth Park: The Shore’s Greatest Stretch Since 1870 is a keepsake book every racing fan will cherish, and includes hundreds of photos, statistics, and memorabilia including a focus on the Hall of Champions, the Haskell Invitational and the 2007 Breeders’ Cup. A portion of proceeds goes to the ReRun Foundation, a non-profit Thoroughbred adoption program whose mission is to help ex-racehorses find a second career.
